Mapu Maia Pacific Services Counsellor / Educator - Part-time

One in six people are affected as a result of problem gambling. 

Mapu Maia is the Pacific Unit of The Problem Gambling Foundation of New Zealand and we aim to empower communities to take positive action on a social issue.

The Problem Gambling Foundation of New Zealand is the largest problem gambling service provider in New Zealand.  Mapu Maia provides a cultural and clinical service to Pacific families in the Auckland region.  We have a dynamic Pacific team that is committed to family, spiritual, cultural, physical and mental dimensions of Pacific care. 

We are looking for a dedicated person who has counselling qualifications and is also able to provide health promotion education to the Pacific community.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required and a good level of computer literacy. We need someone with the ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to our team.

Experience in working with Pacific communities is vital for this role and fluency in a Pacific Island language is required.

This role is for 20 hours per week and is based in Khyber Pass Road, Grafton, Auckland.

The position requires a tertiary level qualification in counselling or social work.
