The above quote captures the guiding principles that will underpin the design and delivery of the Mapu Maia service, that is, that Pacific peoples are given the means to develop their own sustainable solutions to address the issues that life throws at them.

Mapu Maia's Aim

To provide culturally appropriate public health and clinical services to Pacific communities that is effective and relevant to the needs of individuals, families and the wider community.

We will do this by providing a service that is more accessible and better integrated

We will dedicate ourselves to serving Pacific clients and communities by ensuring the delivery of quality, culturally appropriate services and programmes

To be leaders in health research that provides both direction of services and robust evidence-based practices

To determine pathways in workforce development that will ensure a highly qualified and passionate workforce
