Richard Northey, Chairman
For the last two years Richard Northey has been Chair of the Problem Gambling Foundation and the Director of its Local Government Advisory services project. He currently an Auckland City Councillor and Chairs the Auckland / Northland Zone of Local Government New Zealand.
Richard also Chairs The Peace Foundation, the Auckland District Council of Social Service and the Steering Group to establish a national organisation for community-based housing. He is Secretary of the Labour Party Policy Council and a Board Member for the Auckland Observatory and Planetarium and the Auckland Art Gallery. Richard Northey is a consultant to voluntary sector organisations.
Richard's previous roles have included: a junior lecturer in political studies at Auckland University; an employment officer for the then Labour Department; an advisory officer, community, recreation and youth with the Internal Affairs Department; an MP for Eden; a Local Authority liaison Officer for the QEII Arts Counciland was MP for Onehunga.

Rod Perkins
Rod has over thirty years' experience in health. Having qualified as a dentist, he moved into planning and health administrationears in the Department of Health before gaining experience in the USA. Before moving to Auckland in 1985, he was the Chief Executive of the Thames Hospital Board. After a period as a consultant to the New Zealand Medical Association, he moved into top management in the Auckland Area Health Board.
In 1993 Rod began an academic career at the School of Medicine University of Auckland New Zealand. He is now a Senior Lecturer in Health Management and an Associate of the Centre for Health Services Research and Policy where he researches and teaches both undergraduates and postgraduates. He is also associated with EPIQ- an effective practice, informatics and quality research grouping.
Rod has published journal articles, technical publications and in books and has received grants to publish research on health policy and management. He has organised an extensive number of executive short courses on a wide range of health areas using his network of international experts.
He has a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Otago University, a Master of Health Administration from the Graduate School of Business at Georgia State University in the USA and a Doctor of Philosophy from the Faculty of Medicine in the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Contact Rod on

Maureen Waaka
Maureen Waaka is a Rotorua City Councillor, a trustee for the Lakes District Health Board, and the NZ Maori Problem Gambling Trust.
Maureen works tirelessly to eliminate gambling harm, and advocates for services for problem gamblers and their families.
